Overview

Reading Partners opened its first centers in the Los Angeles region in 2008.

Each on-campus reading center operates in a converted classroom or a library. Every reading center is staffed by a Reading Partners Site Coordinator to work with the school staff, understand student needs, and guide volunteer tutors.

In the 2011-12 school year in the Los Angeles region, Reading Partners will:

Offer one-on-one tutoring to 300 students
Recruit 330 active volunteer tutors
Serve 8 partner schools

ERICA TRULLINGER

Executive Director, Los Angeles

Erica was born and raised in Southern California. She attended college at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where she studied English and Art History. In 2004, Erica joined Teach for America and taught Special Education in Phoenix, Arizona. Erica was a founding member of the Reading Partners – Los Angeles team in 2008.
