Our Corps Members

Reading Partners AmeriCorps members have an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in their communities. They are at the forefront of a national service movement that is shaping the face of public education. In addition to gaining fantastic professional experience, they will complete their year of service knowing that they have significantly and measurably impacted the lives of dozens of students.

“This is the toughest job you’ll ever love. While corps members vary in background, all AmeriCorps Members must have the ability to work on a team, be open to learning, develop leadership skills and be ready to commit 10 months of full-time service for children and communities across the country."

Our AmeriCorps Members must also meet these eligibility requirements. To participate, you must:

• Have a college degree or have attended some college, have a high school or diploma or GED, or be willing to earn a GED
• Be able to dedicate 10 months to full-time service
• Be at least 17 years of age
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident alien
• Have served no more than 3 terms in another AmeriCorps, NCCC or VISTA program
• Agree to a background or security check
• A B.A. and previous experience with service, tutoring, and volunteer management help strengthen candidacy
